Anything can be done

"With a needle and thread, of course, anything can be done. This is what I believe."
So says Sebahat Ã‡etinkaya, the crochet artisan in this captivating video from the delightful Etsy.
Maybe such a statement just sounds more profound coming from a grey haired Turkish lady who has to trudge through thick snow to get to the yarn shop. But it underlines something I've been thinking lately - that there's something special about needlecraft. It weaves a thread through generations and connects us with our past in very tangible ways. And still it's always modern*.
